About Me
A New Zealand artist creating animal-inspired artwork, prints, homeware and wearable designs from a studio in Auckland’s Waitakere Ranges.

Kia ora, I’m Elizabeth Dodd — though many people know me as Liz.
I create artwork from my studio in the Waitakere Ranges in Auckland, New Zealand, surrounded by native bush, animals, and the changing moods of the landscape. It is a peaceful, slightly wild place to work, and much of my inspiration comes from what I see around me every day: birds, dogs, cats, trees, flowers, weather, colour, humour, and small moments of character.
My work includes an eclectic mix of pet-inspired pieces, whimsical animal illustrations, New Zealand bird and landscape artwork, and designs that bring a little personality into everyday objects. Some pieces begin as watercolours or paintings; others become prints, mugs, T-shirts, tote bags, and other items designed to be lived with, worn, gifted, or simply enjoyed.
Animals have always been part of my life, and they often find their way into my work. I love their expressions, their odd little habits, and the way they can be graceful, ridiculous, loyal, dramatic, and funny — sometimes all at once. That same mix of affection and humour appears in many of my designs.
I am also deeply inspired by Aotearoa New Zealand’s natural world, especially the native birds, bush, coastline, and flora around West Auckland. From tūī and pīwakawaka to rugged coastal landscapes and native plants, these subjects give me endless ideas for artwork that feels local, personal, and full of life.
ElizabethAnneDodd.com brings these pieces together in one place: original art, wall prints, and illustrated products that share a little of the world around my studio. Whether you are here for animal art, New Zealand-inspired prints, or a design that simply makes you smile, I hope you find something that feels special.
Thank you for visiting and supporting my work.
